Flexible Work Hours Are Key To Supporting Staff and Customers

This year we are increasing support hours for our customers, as well as providing flexible working hours for our staff.

Having established ourselves as one of the Humber’s leading IT and software support providers, delivering dedicated support when our customers need it is pivotal to our business. In 2018, we celebrated our fifth consecutive year of growth, which has enabled us at HBP Systems to increase our employee count and further invest in their training and development. With this expansion, we are able to provide all of our departments with the opportunity for flexible working hours.

HBP Systems is a family run business, so we appreciate the importance of people’s commitments to their loved ones. The flexi-hours available means that our team can accommodate their personal lives and family commitments, without it having any negative impact on their work or the business. We hope that flexible working hours can massively reduce our team’s expenditure on child care and unnecessarily wasted annual leave.

A More Flexible Workplace

We appreciate that when you work throughout the week, it can be difficult booking certain appointments, however, our new flexi-hours will end this difficulty. Those members of staff that live out of town can now schedule their travel arrangements to best suit them and their families.

Our support hours are attributed to when we receive the most calls from our customers and we continue to monitor this very closely. As well as increasing support hours, our business growth means that we can further increase the amount of support staff and engineers we have. The growth we have enjoyed over our 30-years in business includes the range in our product portfolio. Retaining and gaining more support staff and engineers means we are able to move with times and we can evolve with the ever-changing world of IT, and subsequently our customers support requirements.

In 2018, we extended our annual leave from 22 days a year, to 28. With this increase in staff holiday allowance, the performance of the team continued to excel. Managing Director, Joanne Dixon, says, “We want HBP Systems to be the happiest place to work it can possibly be, so being considerate of our teams’ family commitments is vital for a management team”. In March 2019, we will begin our application for the Sunday Times’ 100 Best Small Companies To Work For, which is more than just an accreditation for Joanne, “we want to retain our staff and attract new talent, as it is people that make a business grow. I want HBP to be the best place to work it can possibly so to be in a position to offer something as valuable as flexi-time to our staff is a real milestone for us”.
